White

White wine obtained from several parcel of land in Monleale (IT)

The Derthona Sterpi of Vigneti Massa is produced exclusively from white grapes that have always been cultivated in the Apennine and pre-Apennine hills of the "Marca Obertenga"; with phylloxera has risked extinction, now it is regaining the ancient spaces: from 4 hectares in 2000 to the current 150 hectares cultivated by over forty producers. Sterpi comes from a cold maceration for about 40 hours, subsequent fermentation for about 12 months in stainless steel tanks and periodic "batonnage" of the lees for about 12 months. After about 14 months from the harvest, it is bottled in the classic 0.75lt format, in 1.5l magnum and in double 3lt magnums.

Wine is an infinite team game. From our grandparents who have identified the grape varieties, the soil of exaltation of the same, to the nature that has recommended the best winemaking practices, to the modern winery, to the "sommellerie", to the wine shops, to the catering. We propose you to participate in this infinite and ancient game: using your specific and personal sensory attitudes, we ask you to describe the organoleptic characteristics of the wine of this bottle. Certain that the sense of smell and taste are inextricably linked to a person's points of reference, we prefer not to influence you, but to gather your evaluations: a small and pleasant effort can serve to better understand and communicate the characteristics of this "modern antique" white wine.
